Progressive Organizations Welcome Working Families Party into Sanders Movement

“We cannot be more excited to build with the Working Families Party to help elect Bernie Sanders as the next president of the United States,” says coalition of grassroots groups

DETROIT -- In response to the Working Families Party endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders for President, the Center for Popular Democracy Action, Our Revolution, the Sunrise Movement, People’s Action, Make the Road Action, Justice Democrats and Mijente released the following statement:

“We cannot be more excited to build with the Working Families Party to help elect Bernie Sanders as the next president of the United States. The challenges that we are up against are not small. As the divide between rich and poor gets even greater, we need to be united in our efforts to stand up to corporate greed, billionaire interests, and the type of politics that leaves working families, immigrants and people of color at the margins. Together, we can ensure that our elected representatives are accountable to us and our communities. We know that Bernie Sanders is the best candidate in the race to deliver the health care, good paying jobs, affordable housing, immigrant rights, climate action and quality education that our families desperately need. He is the strongest candidate on issues of racial justice. Our movement supports him and will work to bring the vision of politics that we share into a reality, through elections and beyond.”
