Center for Popular Democracy Action Endorses Kerri Harris for U.S. Senate in Delaware

“Kerri has been a warrior for those all too often left out of the conversation in Delaware,” says national community organizing network

WASHINGTON, DC – Center for Popular Democracy Action (CPD Action), a national network of grassroots community organizations, released the following today from Co-Executive Director and Network President Jennifer Epps-Addison:

“Delaware needs a fresh voice who will stand up to the Trump administration and stand up for the state's working families. Senator Tom Carper has too often proved to be a rubber stamp for Trump’s corporate agenda, whether giving the thumbs up to Wall Street insiders at the Federal Reserve, approving the pharmaceutical lobbyists behind the opioid crisis to regulate our healthcare system, or championing the dismantling of Dodd-Frank.

Delaware deserves more, and that's why we couldn't be prouder to endorse Kerri Harris for U.S. Senator. Kerri has been a warrior for those all too often left out of the conversation in Delaware - working-class families, people of color, immigrants, and LGBT communities. A longtime community organizer, she refuses to accept the status quo - and she knows how to win the impossible. Her platform is boldly progressive, including a $15 minimum wage, single-payer healthcare for all, and the abolition of ICE. Growing up in a diverse, multicultural family, she has lived many of the struggles that Delaware's working families face today, and it's what has fueled her commitment to opportunity and justice for all.

As we face a turning point in our history, we need bold champions who will stretch the bounds of what our nation can achieve. Kerri Harris has proven that she has what it takes to be that champion, and we're thrilled to put our support behind her candidacy."
