SAINT PAUL, MN – “We are proud to endorse three bold champions for change who can lead Minnesota into a brighter future. Erin Murphy, Keith Ellison and Ilhan Omar have proven that they have the vision and the courage to fight for Minnesotans in every corner of the state and to stand up for immigrants, refugees, young people, communities of color, and those struggling to make ends meet. Together, they can reimagine what’s possible for the state.
Erin Murphy is a tireless fighter who has taken on some of the state’s toughest legislative battles of the past few years, winning progressive victories like marriage equality and a higher minimum wage and standing up to Republicans to save health care for tens of thousands of low-income Minnesotans. As a nurse, Erin knows first hand how our healthcare system is failing Minnesota families and she is the only candidate with a plan to deliver a single-payer health care plan for the state. As Governor, she will take on the corporate interests that are holding Minnesotans back from better wages, affordable healthcare and broader prosperity. She is the leader Minnesota needs.
Keith Ellison has been one of our country’s foremost champions for communities that too often get left behind, fighting in Congress to support immigrants, end the Muslim Ban, and raise wages for working Americans. As the people's lawyer, he will fight wage theft, end the tilted playing field that protects corporations at the expense of consumers, and fight Trump’s agenda of hate and inequality by standing up to attacks on our healthcare and communities of color.
Ilhan Omar is a pathbreaking legislator who will bring a fresh and badly needed voice to Congress. A Somali refugee, she has lived the challenges of the communities she will represent and has tirelessly fought for policies that give all people the freedom to thrive. Her fearless platform embraces both a Renters’ Bill of Rights and a call to abolish ICE. She will stand up to Trump’s politics of division and hate and boldly fight for our progressive values.”
