CPD Action Endorses Progressive Candidates in Florida

Brooklyn, NY -- Today, the Center for Popular Democracy Action (CPD Action)—a national network of more than 50 community organizing groups across the country—announced their endorsement of Guerdy Remy for State Senate in Florida’s 9th district, Andrew Darling for Orange County Sheriff, and Monique Worrell for State Attorney in the 9th circuit.

With just a few days to go until Florida’s primary election, CPD Action is following the lead of their partner, Organize Florida,  by backing these local candidates whose records demonstrate their commitment to fighting for the progressive policies their communities need to thrive. 

Guerdy Remy is running for State Senate in District 9. A lifetime advocate and healthcare worker in central Florida, Guerdy aims to prioritize the wellbeing of vulnerable communities by fighting for a living wage, accessible healthcare, and quality education.

Monique Worrell is running for State Attorney in the 9th Circuit of Osceola and Orange County. Her platform envisions transformative justice that decreases the rate of incarceration, reforms bail and probation, and holds the police accountable. 

Andrew Darling is running for Orange County Sheriff. He’s committed to using his power to reform the criminal justice system by reducing incarceration as well as center communities to keep them safe and the development of new training programs. 

The network has made several other down-ballot endorsements in Vermont, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, Georgia, and Illinois. Recently, CPD Action made a presidential endorsement to Joe Biden, and last year, its first presidential endorsement for Bernie Sanders.
