CPD Action Endorses Progressive Candidates in Delaware

Brooklyn, NY -- Today, the Center for Popular Democracy Action (CPD Action)—a national network of more than 50 community organizing groups across the country—announced their endorsement of Shané Darby and Coby Owens for Wilmington, Delaware’s city council.
The network has committed to building power in local and state races across the country. The pathway to remove Trump from office and scrub his legacy of hateful policies starts on the ground following the lead of progressive champions like our partners, Delaware Alliance for Community Advancement.
Coby Owens is running for Wilmington City Council’s 1st district. He is an active member of the League of Heros that champions Medicare for All, believes housing is a basic human right, and is invested in constructing a public safety plan that is safe and equitable for his community.
Shané Darby is running for Wilmington City Council’s 2nd District. A native her district, mother, and community advocate, Shané aims to fulfill her role by centering on community reinvestment, criminal justice reform, and youth development.
The network has made several other down-ballot endorsements in Florida, Vermont, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, Georgia, and Illinois. Recently, CPD Action made a presidential endorsement to Joe Biden, and last year, its first presidential endorsement for Bernie Sanders.
